Some Blog Browsing

Some days I like to scour my favorite blogs (just take a look at my inspiration list) to see what pretty things they've found. They seem to be much more talented than I am when it comes to finding unique and beautiful products and images. (Though I imagine that some of the more popular blogs add products that have been sent to them to feature). Unfortunately, I was looking for stationery, and only one blog really had any featured!

Anyways, I found this beautiful card from Bow + Arrow on {Oh So} Beautiful Paper. If you haven't checked out her blog before now, you really should - she always has the most fun things to look at! :)

My Little Shop has been Featured!

I am so happy and so grateful to Rajshel of Jane Hancock Papers and author of {The Stationery Hustle}. She asked a little while back for people who would be interested in being a featured artist on her blog as a part of her "Stationery Showcase" weekly feature. I responded, but didn't expect to get a spot. Well, I did - and now there's a whole feature on her blog for Eyelet Sage Studio. Thanks, Rajshel!

Please check the feature out here!

Oh Etsy, You're Taking Over my Life

Has that happened to you yet? (If you're selling on Etsy, that is). About five days ago I suddenly realized what I needed to do to keep people coming into my shop. Unfortunately, that something meant spending the majority of my time suddenly snooping around in forums, upping my web presence (finding ways to be featured, joining Twitter and various blog catalogs). Which is all a bit fun, but can be quite tiring too, especially when all of that work the views are still dwindling down from their weekend spike.

And THEN, I discovered through forums that my pictures aren't perfect (though tolerable) and I need to triple the amount of items in my store in order for people to be interested enough to buy. Some even said they question shops that have less than two pages of items. WHAT?! Seriously, I understand those points perfectly I know my pictures are slightly subpar (I do what I can when all I have are cloudy, rainy days and a point and shoot digital camera...) But the item amount is what worries me - for the sake that it takes some good amount of money to get all of that stuff in there in the first place (especially when printers are charging well over 60 cents just for one piece of paper - that's not even counting the printing!).

I'm hoping to add some coptic stitch bound journals within the next couple of weeks, which will at least add to my selection. I have calendars that I make too - but it's the middle of the year, who's going to want a calendar now? Oh well, slowly but surely I'll add some items it just may take some time.

I've added a couple of designs above that aren't in my shop.

Stationery Spotlight: Snow and Graham

This is another one of those stationers that I keep going back to look at their products because they're so simple and beautiful. Snow and Graham of Chicago creates gorgeous letterpress items anywhere from notecards to journals to coasters. I found these items at Greer Chicago online.

Sticker Flower Card

Another card today :)...I thought of this one while I was falling asleep last night, don't ask me why. Ideas just tend to come in that moment when I need my brain to quiet down the most. But I was thinking this card could be fun as even a personalized stationery set...insert your name instead of "happy birthday," or you could even leave it in blank and have a catch-all card that you can scribble in a message when ever you need something :) If you like this card just convo me through etsy and I'll set up a custom order for you or email me at eyeletsagestudio[!@]gmail.com.

Love Birds

I love that birds are "in style" right now, especially in terms of weddings. The whole love bird concept is so perfect and cute. I did a quick design of a lovebird invitation, just for fun. If you like this invitation or would like a similar design just convo me on etsy or email me at eyeletsagestudio[!@]gmail.com.

Poppies are Popping up over at Etsy

I actually like how this photograph of the new poppy cards turned out..I didn't try to yellow it out, the lighting just was like that at the moment. It gives it that vintage kind of feeling I was going for -so I only really had to crop it in PhotoShop. This is probably my new favorite card over at my etsy shop. I love that a design can be 100 times better if you use simple shapes. If you like this card head on over, and if you would like to customized it for personalized notecards just convo me on etsy or email me at eyeletsagestudio[!@]gmail.com. Happy browsing! :)

Stationer Spotlight: Things are Better with a Parrot

I love when I come across a blog or a website and I'm completely inspired by the "about me." So many of these shops started off super small in someone's garage (or apartment in this case). Things are Better with a Parrot was created by Sarah and her love for art and printing. It really makes me want to start taking classes...maybe someday I will be able to.

Maybe I'm heading in the right direction - I'm touring a printshop today :). In the meantime, check out Sarah's shop, Things are Better with a Parrot. She talks about the process, so maybe we can all learn somthing today :).

Little Birdy

It's not a new design, but I still like it. :) This is the design that started it all...in terms of Etsy. Check it out!

Dandelions

Here's my design for today - "dandelion dots." Please remember to keep voting for your favorite of my designs. Who knows - maybe the design will be in my etsy shop next week!

Red Poppy #3

I'm in a bit of a design rut in the last 12 hours...I just like the poppies :).

I'm super excited - this weekend I'm learning how to bind books, so maybe next week I'll be posting some pictures of my final outcome. Something to look forward to!

Red Poppies Personalized Notecards

Personalized note cards create from the poppy design. I kind of like them, if I do say so myself. Again, if you are interested in these cards please email me at eyeletsagestudio[!at]gmail.com or convo me on etsy and I'll set up a custom order for you. Just remember to tell me the name you would like on the cards.

Red Poppies

Inspired by some fabric flowers...a red poppy hello card. If you like it, just email me at eyeletsagestudio[!at]gmail.com or convo me on etsy and request that I sell these cards :)

Etsy :)

Check out my etsy store and take a look around. If you like my work, please add me as a favorite. I don't have many designs on there yet, to test the waters and see what people think. If you'd like me to add anymore designs - especially the ones I've featured on my blog every so often, just let me know - I'm glad to create custom orders! :)

Card Spotlight: made by keli

I just discovered made by keli today while searching on Etsy. It's one of those shops where I look around and I immediately want to start designing more cards myself. These simple designs seem to be doing pretty well and they are very reasonably priced. Go check Keli's shop out :)

Pistachio Press

So I think I've fallen in love with this press. Since I've been researching more about stationery recently, I've come to appreciate and adore the art of letterpress printing. I really want to learn for myself, but as I cannot invest in a press myself nor have the resources at the moment to take classes, I just have to swoon over the work of others :).

Pistachio Press is run by Rachael Hetzel in Rochester, NY. I absolutely love the designs and the craftsmanship. A little inspiration for today. Check out Pistachio Press. It's amazing.

And happy EASTER! He is Risen! :)

Card Spotlight: Threefold - One for You, One for me

I absolutely love the idea of this card - especially the message on the back of the popsicle card from Threefold. It's like a friendship necklace for cards. My question is, do you send the card whole or do you send only half and have the person bring it the next time they see you?

Lines!

I decided to have some fun using one shape. The tulips on top are a part of the "flowers" on the bottom. The bottom one reminds me of spirographs. Does anyone remember those? We had a whole set of them when I was little that me and my sisters loved.

Card Spotlight: Crane&Co. Thank You Note Giveaway

Sometimes I love the envelope liners of stationery just as much if not more than the actually stationery itself. This beautiful thank you card and envelope are from Crane & Co. And the even better news is Crane&Co. is doing a promotion. Every month in 2009, they are giving away a box of these thank you cards to 10 lucky email subscribers. All you have to do is enter your email address here and you'll be all signed up. Good luck!
