Fresh Flowie Fabrics

I just love this fabric by flowie. It reminds me of the tomatilla cages I found in my backyard a few weeks ago. Check out the rest of the items at flowie - the fabrics are amazing, fresh and fun.

A Tea Party and a Petit Four

This morning I went to a tea party. A sort of mother daughter time for everyone. Whenever I go to teas I'm always amazed at the detail put into these events that normal meals - even fancy meals - don't get. Little petit fours with their frosted pastel tops to mini tea sandwiches and tarts. And each table had a center piece of flowers (that we even got to take home - yay! I love fresh cut flowers!) Sometimes I wonder why the little details of design can't go into our everyday lives - or at least come into our lives more often. I know the details take more time, but isn't it that much more enjoyable when your life has fun little details to make you smile :)?

It's coming up...black-eyed Susans

Since it was sunny out today, I decided to design some sunny flowers :). My challenge? use only one shape. So besides the stems, stinger and stripe, all the rest of this card is made from one shape.

So I've decided to have a little fun. And let people vote on my designs. Why not let everyone decide which new designs head over to my etsy store? So everyone, cast your votes in the comments and maybe your favorite design will be sold through etsy!

Tag Notebooks

These notebooks are so cute. The tags make a great cover...it reminds me of the days when I wanted to be a librarian. My love for paper and books started early. Find the notebooks at erin zam's etsy shop.

Pocket Puzzles

These pocket puzzles are awesome. So much better than carrying the puzzle books around that you buy at the check out stand at the grocery stores. Thanks for the original post black*eiffel. You can find these notebooks here.

Let's Pretend...

It amazes me to watch little kids play, especially with each other. They hold tiny toys or dolls in their hands and create whole environments, situations and story lines for their characters. It's not uncommon to hear a child say "let's pretend" and go on to explain what the next turn of events should be in their make believe world.

As we grow older, most of us lose that wide-eyed, creative wonder of childhood. How many CEOs to you hear saying "let's pretend." Of course, they could never say that, for they live in the real world. But, I like to think that designers and creative-types, we haven't lost that wonder. There's something about sitting there and looking at raw materials and seeing what's going to be the next step in the story of that material. In essence, we like to sit and say, whether to ourselves or others "let's pretend" and explore this new world we can create.
